    Description

Hi, I am selling my Parasound 5250 v2 in immaculate condition, 9/10. There is one small scratch that i noticed (in photo) but overall it is in very good condition. I am upgrading to a NAD M28 and this is the only reason i am selling. Also, in the interest of transparency i had the left surround channel "switching rail" replaced in June 2021 which amounted to .50 in parts and the rest of the unit checked out good. I have been using it and have had no issues whatsoever. I have the original box (double box) and owners manual. This is a beast, weighs in at 69.00 lbs. so buyer pays shipping. I am selling at a quick sell price of ,450.00 (NAD is on it's way).
Under the hood the 5250 v.2 boasts 250 Watts per channel into eight Ohms and 385 Watts per into four Ohms courtesy of its dual transformers. I should note that the 5250 v.2’s power ratings are based on all channels being driven continuously instead of via a single channel the way some amplifiers are measured. The 5250 v.2 is THX Ultra2 certified. Speaking of THX certification, the 5250 v.2 has independent gain controls for each of its five channels which allow you to adjust the output plus or minus 10dB from THX’s stated reference level for better matching with AV preamps, receivers and/or stereo preamplifiers – not to mention efficient or less efficient loudspeakers as I found out. The 5250 v.2’s new gain control is just one of the more than 60 updates Parasound claims has been made to the 5250 v.2’s design – though with the exception of its slightly modified faceplate, new 12-Volt trigger and ground-lift circuitry the remaining 56 updates are more or less a mystery. The original 5250 retailed for ,500 when it was released some years ago. The new 5250 v.2 retails for ,850 or 0 more than its predecessor, which isn’t too bad if you are already in the market.
