    Description

    Three Chialu vintage hand-painted toy Confederate CSA soldiers 1960s
    Set of three Chialu toy Confederate soldiers; charging infantry officer with sword (3.5 inches [9 cm] in height), cavalryman on horse (4.5 inches [11.4 cm] in height), and wounded soldier with sword (3.5 inches [6.3 cm] in height). "CHIALU ITALY" is imprinted on the base of each figurine. Chialu was an Italian company, and the figures are composite, that is, they are made of a mix of plaster, resin, glue and other items, on a skeleton of bendable wire. They are much like the German Lineol toys.
    The cavalryman is missing the left foot and the officer’s sword is a little loose in his hand; other than that, these look to be in very good to fine condition. They have been carefully stored in a non-smoking and pet-free home since they were purchased during the American Civil War Centennial in the 1960s. See pictures for more information on condition.
